Artist Statement

In creating my books, I have created visual images which do not so much illustrate the poetry as provide a resonance between the two. I have let the text and images reflect the great feeling that I have both for relationships and for dreams and dream-states and the messages they reveal to us.

I have wanted to keep the books, with their handmade paper and basic structures such as accordion fold, as simple as possible. The materials reflect the value I place on all things simple but priceless in my life--relationships, the natural world, and the gifts of understanding and insight that we receive through dreams and their layers of meaning.
