In Powell River, BC, Vi is enjoying all the local subject material for working in pencils, pens, acrylics, watercolors and oils. She attempts to capture nuances, moods and images in nature. Besides originals her work is available as prints and notecards.

Vi studied painting and drawing with Mark Gwynn in Port Hardy, BC. In the Crowsnest Pass, AB, she painted en plein air. In Alberta’s Peace Country she studied watercolors with Marjorie Henn. She experimented with oils under Ursula Medley’s direction in Powell River and in Tuscany, Italy. In December, 2007 she painted in New Zealand with David Taylor, an Australian watercolorist.

Vi is a member of the Artique Cooperative, the Malaspina Art Society and the Studio Tour. She teaches watercolors at Artique as well as private lessons in her studio. She also welcomes commissions.
