About Powell River
Powell River, located on the upper Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada, is
called the Pearl of the Sunshine Coast with reason. From the ferry terminal at
Saltery
Bay to the end of Highway 101 in Lund there are rugged beaches, mountains to climb
and a multitude of lakes to enjoy with kayak or canoe.
The scenery and the people are just two of the key attractions that have proved irresistible to the 500 plus artists who make their home in the Powell River area and a holiday destination for people from around the world. While Powell River had its beginnings as a mill town, it has evolved into a small city of 16,000 people with an ever-growing emphasis on art and culture.
